Turnkey workplace charging packages will include all aspects needed for participants to offer the benefit of EV charging to employees and customers without any up-front capital expense. The turnkey package includes:
- Hardware: We will provide for customer purchase internet-connected EVSE capable of accepting payments
- Software: We will provide payment processing, access control, & the capability for utility-initiated demand response
- Installation: We will provide permitting, labor, and materials to install the stations in partnership with installation experts
Financing Options
Norwich EV offers a variety of financing options, including zero upfront cost options where you host a Norwich EV charging station at your location – and bank options through local green energy financing programs.
Pilot participants will be able to pay loan installments on their GMP energy statement, enabling all charges to appear in one place, simplifying the customer experience.
In Vermont, through a partnership with Green Mountain Power (GMP) and Vermont Economic Development Association (VEDA) commercial clients can have EV chargers installed at no upfront costs, and with incentives from GMP and the federal government, the remainder of the costs are added to your GMP bills each month for up to 5 years. All hardware and installation costs can be financed through VEDA’s electric vehicle charging station loan program.

Utility Programs & Incentives
There is a federal tax credit available for alternative fuel vehicle infrastructure, including charging equipment for plug-in electric vehicles. This will provide a federal income tax credit of 30% of the installation cost, up to a maximum of $30,000 per location for commercial installations. Refer to IRS form 8911 for details on claiming the credit. Additionally, utility and state programs offer additional rebates (see example GMP program).
EV Charger Features
- Options for Hardware: internet connectivity, EVSE connector Level (II or III)
- Circuit Size: minimum 30-amp 2-pole; stations can do power-sharing across multiple ports
- EV Driver Functionality: driver can view costs, access chargers, pay for sessions (smartphone app preferred, RFID acceptable)
- Customer Functionality: site host can set price (TOU, flat rate), view consumption history, reduce operating costs, schedule waitlist, demand charge avoidance, set power limit, flexible cord/mounting options)
- Mounting options: pole, wall, integration with new solar canopy
