Empowering forward-thinking businesses
to build a sustainable future

Electric vehicles recently have become price-competitive, more reliable, and more responsive than fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Norwich EV makes it easy and affordable to adopt EVs and EV chargers for schools, towns, non-profits, small businesses, and commercial and industrial customers with no upfront costs and competitive monthly costs.

More than $1 billion is spent in Vermont alone on gasoline and diesel sales annually. If all that travel had been powered by electricity, the cost would have been less than half, saving over $500 million in one year. Those funds and a large portion of the electricity cost would have remained local and with consumers. These savings, and keeping our energy dollars local, provide a strong case for electric vehicle adoption.

HOW COULD YOUR BUSINESS, NON-PROFIT OR COMMERCIAL PROPERTY BENEFIT FROM AN EV CHARGING STATION OR EV FLEET?

Stand out and attract new clientele and employees by offering plug-in electric vehicle (EV) charging. EV charging helps you reduce the environmental impact and cost of employee commuting and travel, and your own corporate fleets. The bottom line, EV Leadership pays off. You foster greater loyalty among existing customers and stronger interest among new customers. EV customers spend twice as much time at retailers as average customers, and 43% are likely to return weekly to retail locations with EV chargers. For employees, you offer a valuable and tangible benefit-providing them with a low-cost, reliable form of transportation to work.

Lending a hand in creating a greener future

Electric vehicles (EVs) offer a surefire route to increasing energy independence, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of our transportation sector, and guarding against rising petroleum prices. The electrification of transportation will also continue to grow load and help mitigate rate pressure for the benefit of all customers.

Questions? You've come to the right place.

Here are our answers to the most frequently asked questions about electric driving and charging.

Are there tax credits for EVs?

The federal government is currently offering a tax credit of up to $7,500 toward your EV purchase. Additionally, for new EV charging stations, a 30% federal tax credit may be available.

How do EVs compare with gasoline cars in terms of MPG?

Electricity is less expensive than the equivalent gasoline (depending on your vehicle efficiency, the equivalent of about $1.00 per gallon of gas) and electricity prices rise and fall at a much slower and more stable rate than gasoline and diesel.

Are EVs expensive to maintain?

Electric vehicles (EVs) can save you $1,200 or more on maintenance costs.

Are EVs good in the winter driving conditions of New England?

EVs provide increased traction due to their heavy batteries, great for winter driving conditions.

How do EVs help on a local scale?

EVs increase our energy independence, helping keep our energy reliance and resources local. They also contribute to healthier air and lower carbon emissions.

Performance is important to me. How do EVs compare?

EVs will generally accelerate faster and perform just as well in other respects as similar gas-powered counterparts.

Are EVs a proven technology?

Electric vehicle adoption is increasing and spreading throughout the state and the country.

Is charging an EV difficult or dangerous?

Re-“fueling” involves connecting your car to an EV charger, which is similar to plugging a device into an electrical outlet.

Electricity production also has a carbon footprint. Is there really an environmental advantage to EVs?

Electric vehicles (EVs) can be powered by locally generated electricity instead of non-local fossil fuels. EVs contribute to healthier air and have zero tailpipe emissions.

How are charging stations installed?

Norwich EV provides turnkey installations of Level 2 and Level 3 chargers in New England. Charger installations are designed, installed, and maintained by Norwich EV and its local electrician partners.
